MTP automation engineering services

Prepare your equipment for the future with modular process automation

An automation architecture based on the Modular Type Package (MTP) standard enables easy integration of new process equipment in the production line, simpler validation and testing procedures and consistent quality of each module.

Our MTP integrators advise OEMs and process owners in regulated industries such as food and pharma, and help design the MTP architecture, build modules and gateways and integrate equipment on site.

What is MTP 2.0 automation?

MTP 2.0 is short for Module Type Package 2.0, an open standard for process automation created by the international association NAMUR. The standard’s vendor-neutral, functional description of process module automation makes it easier to program, integrate and coordinate process equipment from different vendors and increases the flexibility of the production.

Each process equipment assembly (PEA), such as a mixing tank, dosing unit or buffer tank, is described in a standardised MTP file. This describes the PEA’s functions, interfaces and available operations, allowing it to communicate with a process orchestration layer (POL).

MTP 2.0 compatibility for OEMs

For OEMs, MTP provides a common structure for developing process modules that can be integrated into different customers’ production plants. Compliance with your customer’s MTP requirements can be achieved through a gateway between your existing software solution and the POL or by reengineering your platform to integrate MTP as an embedded architecture.

Our MTP specialists advise and assist OEMs through the process of adapting your equipment interfaces to the MTP standard’s structure.

MTP automation in new and established process plants

For process owners, it makes it easier to combine equipment from different suppliers, integrate new modules and modify established production plants.

The result is a more modular automation architecture, where process modules can be developed, tested and reused independently, making future integration and expansion more manageable

Our MTP specialists help you integrate new and existing process equipment with MTP automation for a more flexible production line.
